Carter Twins dropped:(

So I am a big fan of the Carter Twins, I first saw them at CMA Fest and they are not only really cute, but are GREAT performers. Today it was announced that they have been dropped from CMT Music, but CMT's Jay Frank told Country Aircheck that the split was "amicable, and that the network will remain supportive of the duo". The Carter Twins were the first act to be signed to this label and CMT Music has said that they are not opposed to signing other artists at this time.

BUT, maybe this is a good thing? Zach tweeted earlier saying:

"So excited for this next year some awesome things u guys r gonna be seeing a ton of us new things in the works u will know very soon!"

Backstage at the Tin Roof

I apologize this post for being so late! College def. takes up all my time!

So me and a few friends from college went to the Luke Bryan/David Nail concert this past friday at the Tin Roof. It was my first time being there considering I'm new to Nashville and it was awesome. As soon as we walked through the door there was Donny from Kingbilly, and a few of Luke's band members all hanging out, it was very cool to see.

We got there as soon as Kingbilly went on and were right up against the stage, this band is AWESOME, everyone should go check them out! And Donny is not too bad to look at! haha. They put on an awesome show, and GAC was there to tape it all. Go check them out!
Next, David Nail. I have seen him before, at CMA Fest and he def. has one of the best voices out there. He sang all of his songs off of his new album, including "Red Light" in which he had the audience sing back to him the chorus, and it was LOUD! I wasnt able to see the crowd behind me but I heard there were 2,000 people there. He said that was the best moment of his life and he would never forget that moment. He also sang "Let's Get It On" which made all the hearts in the crowd melt and his voice is PERFECT for that song! He did a great job but I just wish he had more energy on stage!

Luke! Luke was a bit under the weather that night, but said he went to the dr. that morning and got a steroid shot which helped him get through the night. He also said his voice was going to hell, but I couldnt tell that much, he did AMAZING! He still had SOOOO much energy and was def. having fun! Especially him and his guitarist doing pelvic thrusts all night, haha, that was greatness and hilarious. If you havent seen Luke out on the road yet, I HIGHLY suggest you go check him out! The tickets for the concert I went to was only $15, but I left feeling like I didnt pay enough for that concert, it was great.
random info: I guess Tommy Lee was there, I didnt see him but thats what I heard, as well as Teddy Gentry of Alabama, Myron (Jake Owen's drummer) walked in front of me, and I saw Big Kenny backstage.
Also, David Nail smokes cigarettes, who knew?

Sorry For Slow Postings

Hey yall, so Im sorry I didnt post anything today, well i mean yesterday, since now its 2:45 am haha. I had quite a busy day. I ran a few errands, including dropping off a few hundred pictures to print from my month in Nashville, and then I was listening to the radio and apparently Love and Theft were in town to sing the National Anthem at a small town baseball game so of course I grab my iPhone and google it to find out all of the details. so anyways thats how I spent my day and tomorrow I am going to the Katie Armiger concert so postings will most likely be in the late evening.

btw: The guys from Love and Theft are so sweet and are amazing, go check them out! And request Runaway on your radios NOW! :)

Brian Bandas Breaks the Law?

Brian Bandas of the new (AMAZING) band Love and Theft has recently twittered about his trip to Blockbuster where he went to get just 1 movie and left with 13, but thats not where his trouble starts.

Returning home from Blockbuster, Brian was pulled over and got a ticket for his headlights and expired tags. uh-oh

:(

Hopefully those 13 movies he just rented will make him feel better, and maybe he should pop some popcorn to go with it. :)

Jeffrey Steele's Alex Fest

So I know this is a bit late, but in June I recently attended Jeffrey Steele's 3rd Annual Alex LeVasseur Memorial Skate and Music Festival. It was from 2-9pm at Jim Warren Park in Franklin TN and to say it was awesome is an understatement!

Performers included Pearl Heart, Ricky Young and Red White Blue, my personal new favs LoCash Cowboys, Jeffrey Steele, and a surprise performance by Gavin DeGraw and songwriter Shane Minor. Jeffrey did a 3 hour set and had so much fun you could tell! Every band was amazing and I really enjoyed it, it was AMAZING.

Here are a few pics and videos from the event. Also, for more of my videos go check out my youtube page HERE

and im sorry that the videos are shaky! I was sitting in the 90 degree heat all day with not much food so holding my camera above my head and steady wasnt so easy. lol

Trace Adkins' Badonkadonk is now Platinum

Trace Adkin's hit "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" has now been certified platinum (over a million copies).!!! :)

“I thought it would be a hit, but there’s no way I could have envisioned a million ring tones and all that kind of stuff. And then for the video to take on a life of its own … Yeah, it caught me off guard.”

It was written by Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser, and Dallas Davidson with inspiration from a night out at Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville.

Congrats!

Please Pray For Mel McDaniel

Mel McDaniel's wife Peggy has recently called Country Weekly to post on their website asking for prayers because Mel is currently battling for his life. On June 16th he had suffered a heart attack and an "induced coma" and is now at a Nashville area hospital. He is only 66 and is known for his hits "Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On", "Stand Up!" and "Louisiana Saturday Night". Mel is a strong man and had previously fallen into a dark orchestra pit while performing a show in 1996 that led to a life-threatening case. Although his wife tells Country Weekly that his current situation is "not good".

Please keep Mel in your prayers and thoughts as well as his family!

Marty Stuart Day

I am a HUGE fan of Marty Stuart, and apparently the city of Philadelphia is too, so much in fact that they made July 9th "Marty Stuart Day"

This year on "Marty Stuart Day" they will have a full day of celebration including activities, a museum exhibit, a road marker dedication, and also a performance by him at the Choctaw Indian Fair, Marty's Wife Connie Smith will also be performing.

Where is the road marker? It will be Marty Stuart Drive off Mississippi 19 north near the land that Marty owns. Also the exhibit will feature items that Marty owned including things from his childhood.

Gonna be in town? The event will be free and open to the public and the dedication will be at 10 am at the Philadelphia-Neshoba County Historival Museum at noon followed by a performance at 8:30

Sounds like a good time to me! Are you gonna go?

Do You Twitter? Well Blake sure does!

Hahaha omg, Blake Shelton has recently been addicted to twitter and they are HILARIOUS! Heres a preview, but you'll have to check out his page yourself you will <3 it, and you're missing out if you dont!

"Ok, just mixed a drink and am going to watch Craig Morgan perform...oops! I almost forgot my earplugs and barf bag..."
"What if you were born a shark, but you loved animals?"

Travis Tritt's Father Passes

Travis Tritt's father, James E. Tritt, passed away on Monday June 15th in Marietta Georgia at the age of 76. The funeral services will take place on Thursday in Marietta. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in Atlanta. His father was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired school bus driver and was commended by the Cobb County School system by the Red Cross for saving the life of one of his passengers on the bus. Travis has cancelled his Thursday concert in Wisconsin due to this tragedy.

So sad, keep their family in your prayers!
