George Strait Review, Pics Coming Soon!

So I was at the historic SOLD OUT George Strait concert at the new Cowboys Stadium and well, least to say the show was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

Julianne Hough was supposed to open but had to cancel due to being put on voice rest, so they got a last minute replacement, Lee Ann Womack. Traffic was HORRIBLE so we got there a bit late and our seats were at the very top b/c ticketmaster had crashed that day they went on sale...booo. anyways, so we probably missed only about 2 songs so we got to hear at least 5 maybe? I have seen Lee Ann 3 times now and she is a true country artist and has an AMAZING voice. Although, the stadium didnt do much to showcase it, b/c it was so big everything echoed and made her set not sound as amazing as I have heard from seeing her at honky tonks, but none the less she still did great! She wore a gray t-shirt dress and extremely tall clunky grey platform heels (which i was not a big fan of even though i <3 heels! haha) and her daughter was standing on the side of the huge stage taking pics. cute

Then Blake Shelton,he came out holding a can of beer, raising it up to the crowd, only to say "This is not my first beer of the day, but we are the luckiest people in the United States of America. We get to watch the King and Queen of country music in this place tonight. And it just so happens to be in the grand opening of the new Cowboys Stadium....and I'll drink to that!" Blake did a great set and I think the audience really liked it. He kept saying how nervous he was, well I bet, the Cowboys Stadium, largest stadium in the US, possibly world? dont count me on that, i dont watch football haha, was sold out! He had ALOT of fun and had the biggest smile EVER on his face. He even talked about how he told George Strait how nervous about this event and asked what he should do, so George said "Play a song that everyone knows" , so Blake did, he sang the Free Credit Report.com song. hahahah and everyone was singing along! <3 it

REBA....she came on and the crowd went crazy, although you couldnt understand what song she was singing, with the really bad echo in the stadium, they had the background vocals up way too high and reba's way too low. But it finally got better as the concert progressed. She played an hour and 1/2 show and had SOOO much fun and she really worked the stage well, as always! But she left the stage without singing Fancy, I was like what the heck? Thats my FAV song and knew all the lyrics to it when i was a little girl. I had only seen a few concerts where an opening act did an encore so i wasnt sure. But then, sure enough, Reba walked out in a red dress (before she had on jeans and a tank with a bunch of jewelry), it was fancy time. :) She sang Fancy and it was AMAZING and then her set ended.

GEORGE. wow, ever heard so many people scream on the top of their lungs? wowww. I knew every lyric to every song and he performed them PERFECTLY. he didnt look nervous at all even though he said he was! He was having a blast and you could tell! He even got Jerry Jones to open the roof of the stadium and sang happy birthday from the stage to a Cowboy that was there. Dont know what else to say about him but that his 11 piece band was AMAZING, his jeans were too loose hahah, he smiled that cute smile all night, and sang all his hits PERFECTLY.

P.S. Reba sang a new song off of her upcoming CD due out August 18th, she said she normally doesnt do that unless its a single, like strange, but since she was at COWBOYS stadium and it was about COWBOYS she sang it. Im pretty sure I was the only one in the crowd who knew all of the lyrics, why? Its called "I Want A Cowboy" and Katrina Elam wrote and recorded it on her CD in '04. Check it out on iTunes, just search Katrina Elam
